Ten Days, Ten Pieces: Day One

Black J. Crew capris, blue white Ann Taylor Loft tee. Red and black Madeleine driving mocs, red J. Crew tote, pink and red silk scarf as belt.

September 18

Today's lesson: if you only have TEN things to wear, you might not want to start the day by dumping coffee down the front of your shirt. I will be sporting an apron for all housework related tasks for the next ten days, strictly as an act of self-preservation.

(I've swapped the full-length khakis for a khaki skirt, in the interest of not collapsing from heat exhaustion this week. Just so you know.)

Do you know that I just ordered myself an apron after splashing food on the front of my new pink sweater? I am such a messy cook. I really should just stop doing it.

But these damn kids want to eat all the time ;-)

Considering I've been in the same pjs for the past 2 days with a horrific cold, I applaud your showering and wearing clean clothes. I am starting to forget what that is like.

Maybe better than an apron, just skip housework for the next ten days. You know - in the interest of fashion science..

I fully support the apron idea -

I've grown to love them and now have a couple for the kitchen. One is a waist apron, one a normal plain apron and one is a fantastic stylin' number (halter neck and all) from Anthropologie.

The summer I spent in Japan, I noticed that everyone wore aprons. People that worked with children always had an apron. Sometimes Moms doing the grocery shopping wore aprons. I even saw a lady, granted she was older, riding her bike in an apron.

Love wearing a scarf as a belt, it is one of my favorite things to wear.

I too have been thinking about getting an apron, I kept getting stains on my shirts.
