BlogHer Thursday: What to Wear to the Casual Friday Office

Regan wants to overhaul her work wardrobe, without spending a fortune.

I'm beginning to feel like I have no style and that I dress too old for my age (I'm 27). I still go in BR, but now when I look at the clothes all I can think is "Yeah it's cute, but I need about $100 worth of accessories to make it work." And since CA is way more expensive than New Orleans, I can't afford $100 worth of accessories for every outfit I own. I'm also thinking that the lack of style is making me look unprofessional and making it hard for my bosses to look at me as someone to promote. But, at the same time, I don't want to go overboard and be uber-professional and stick out in the office. (okay so there are only 3 of us in my office, but still).

So what kind of trench would you recommend (and where!) for a woman with a large chest? I can't wear double breasted, because, well, I am already fairly large and I feel like it makes me look even bigger. (I think my husband said, "prow of a ship.")

Is belted really better? Or does it just accentuate a large behind (for those of us really curvy girls)? Thanks Susan!

yay, that's me with the bad fashion sense!

So I need a denim jacket. I've been super hesitant to ever buy one, as they always remind me of bad hair bands. Maybe a dark wash one would be okay.

And no graphic tees? I'll try that starting tomorrow since today I'm sitting here in my Old Navy graphic print long sleeve tee with converse on my feet.

Strappy sandals are on my list of things to buy. As well as another pair of dark jeans. And I'm shopping for chinos as I type this.

Thanks for the advice!h

There are some great accessories at really resonable prices at 10,000 villages. There jewelry is ethnic, fair trade and pretty inexpensive without being cheap.
There are several stores in CA.

Anonymous! 10,000 Villages is the BEST SITE EVER. It may need it's own post.

But right now I have to go browse some more.

Thank you. THANK YOU.
